Mass General Brigham (MGB) Research Compliance has developed mandatory online training for Principal Investigators (PIs) that provides basic information on a variety of topics to help PIs navigate through a complex regulatory environment. This course, Financial Stewardship of Grants and Contracts, provides an overview of federal, institutional, and sponsor requirements for financial management of grants and contracts. Many physicians and PhD scientists receive grants and contracts without formal training in research finance. This course seeks to correct the gap. All members of the research community – Co-PIs, Research Associates, Postdoctoral Fellows, Graduate Students, and Research Administrators – are encouraged to complete the program. Upon successful completion, physicians are eligible to receive Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit.
